Jessica McMullen, RJR Elementary Principal

Dear RJ Richey Bulldog Families,

RJ Richey is such an amazing place that truly models Burnet CISD Spirit, Pride, and Honor!   I am honored and humbled to serve as RJR's principal, and I look forward to years of learning and growing with our Bulldog students and working collaboratively with our staff, our parents, and community members.

My main priority is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment with high expectations for excellence and a committed focus on building a strong, positive culture where everyone works together to achieve new levels of success.  Working together as a team with our students, staff, parents, and community, I am committed to helping each and every student achieve their very best.  Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort, and together, I know that we can make a difference.

I look forward to joining you in many of our school activities at RJR throughout the year!

It is my belief that parents and community members are our partners in the educational process and success of our students.  Strong positive relationships with families are extremely important to the success of our school.  Your voice is very important, so please feel free to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.

A little more about me......I received both my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University (Go Lumberjacks!), as well as an Educational Entrepreneurship degree and certificate from Rice University in Houston.  I continue to be highly involved in the Raise Your Hand Texas Collaborative Program here in Austin and attend Harvard University for educational leadership programs that help empower and improve public schools across the nation.  I have served in the field of education for the last 20 years with experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels as a teacher, curriculum designer, assistant principal, as well as principal for the last ten years.  I continue to be blessed by being a part of another sensational school in Burnet CISD that is steeped in rich traditions of excellence.
