Hello! My name is Amber Skripka and I will be teaching 4th grade Math and Science this year. This is my first year teaching and I am very proud to be a part of Burnet CISD! I love the small town family feel here in Burnet.
I grew up in Helotes, TX and earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology from University of Texas at San Antonio. I dispatched for UTSA's Police Department for about 5 years and then decided to move to Burnet last January. I dispatched for the Burnet County Sheriff's Office for a short while and I decided my heart wasn't in it anymore and I wanted to pursue my lifelong goal of teaching so I spent this summer getting my teaching certification.
It has always been my desire to teach and I am so happy to finally have that opportunity! I know this is going to be a great year and I am looking forward to creating many lasting memories with my students.
When I'm not working, I enjoy being with my four rescue dogs (yes, it's a lot!) and going to the lake, doing some home improvement work, or relaxing with a good movie. I do not have any kids yet, but I want to be a mom more than anything! I absolutely adore children.
