Hello! This is my 21st year as a teacher. I am new to RJ this year and am so glad to be here! I previously taught for six years in Georgetown and 14 years in Waxahachie, mostly as a dyslexia interventionist.
I am married to George, who's a dentist working for the state of Texas. We are blessed with three grown children and three young grandbabies. We recently built a home on my parents' property in Inks Lake Village, which we have been coming to since 1983. This area has been a huge part of my life since then and is my "happy place"!
While I am not teaching, I loving hanging out with my family and friends, being outside, volunteering at church, and reading and listening to books/audiobooks.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and have been trained in the Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA), Basic Language Skills (BLS), and Reading By Design (RBD) programs, all of which are Orton Gillingham-based programs for dyslexic students.
