Mr. Walton
My name is Mr. Walton. I will be teaching 5th grade math. This year will be my first year at R.J. Richey Elementary and my first year in Burnet CISD.
I graduated from The University of Memphis with a B.S. in Computer Science. After working the "real world," I joined education in 2003 at Lake Travis High School going through alternative certification via Region 13. I then spent 20 years at Cedar Valley Middle School in Round Rock ISD. I was a teacher and a coach (FB,BB, Track.) I taught in Texas History (4 years,) BCIS (computers, 5 years,) and PE (11 years.)
My wife Kristen just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary this past spring. In August, we moved onto a little bit of land in southwest Burnet county after decades of "postage size" lots in subdivisions in Leander & Round Rock.
We have four adult children- 3 girls and a boy. My oldest daughter Hannah is in the middle of her masters degree in Social Work at the University of Houston. My 22-year-old daughter Emily is working in early childhood education. My 19 year-old daughter Carly is working on her fireman/EMT certifications. My son Sean is out in the work-a-day world, working in construction.
